About T Levels
T Levels are a new, two-year qualification for 16-19 year olds and are ideal for learners who have finished GCSEs and want the knowledge and experience to get straight into employment, an apprenticeship or higher education.
T Levels are designed to help students develop the knowledge and technical skills required for skilled careers. They have been developed in collaboration with employers to reflect what they need and prepare learners for work in industry as an alternative to A Levels. All T Levels are based on occupations recognised by employers.
T Levels involve more classroom study than apprenticeships, which means learners experience an industry placement alongside studies. Their time is split with 80% classroom learning and 20% industry placements. Students are required to spend a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) on placement.
