The North East Combined Authority is proud to support collaboration across the region’s colleges through a Strategic College Group, bringing together Further Education leaders to drive high-quality, inclusive careers education for 16–18 learners.
As part of this work, colleges and independant training providers (ITPs) are actively engaged in the North East Careers Hub—a thriving community of practice that includes careers leaders from across FE settings. The Hub provides strategic guidance, peer support, and practical tools to help colleges and ITPs embed meaningful careers provision aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Through the Careers Hub, FE careers leaders benefit from:
- One-to-one support to complete a Compass self-assessment and develop a careers action plan
- Regular network meetings to share best practice and build strong communities of practice
- CPD and training opportunities tailored to the needs of Further Education
- Access to the North East Ambition website, featuring resources, case studies, and links to careers-related learning providers
