They particularly stress the value of applying mathematics in real-life employment contexts, both to further their pupils’ understanding of the relevance of mathematics and to see how it connects to the world around them.
Each resource pack is designed to be flexible and easy to use in the classroom. Teachers can deliver the activities as standalone lessons or integrate them into existing maths units. The real-life job roles and scenarios help pupils apply their maths skills in meaningful contexts, while also learning about careers in their local area. Teacher guides provide clear instructions, curriculum links, and suggestions for differentiation, making the resources suitable for a wide range of learners.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the schools and businesses who contributed their time, insight, and enthusiasm to help bring these resources to life.
Special thanks to the following schools for piloting the materials and providing valuable feedback that helped shape the final resources:
Bothal Primary School, Central Primary School, Backworth Park Primary School, Shiremoor Primary School, Greenland Community Primary School, and Bloemfontein Primary School.
