University Centre Quayside (UCQ) is an established provider of education and training, located in England’s six largest metropolitan areas, with headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne.

We offer a wide range of programmes, from Higher Education to apprenticeships, vocational qualifications and commercial training in management and leadership; we provide pre-employment and adult learning provision across the North East of England and Tees Valley, including through close partnership working with stakeholders, combined authorities, employers, referral organisations and the VCSE sector.

Our degree apprenticeships are delivered across England. We have experienced and exceptional curriculum teams providing our degree, adult, pre-employment, work-based and distance learning programmes, all of whom combine high levels of teaching experience and and vocational skills and experience relevant to their subject area.

Our degree apprenticeship provision is entirely focused on helping employers drive improvements in the performance of their organisations and businesses through work-based learning. We combine academic rigour with real world business know-how, and the UCQ approach to helping improve business results is centred around developing the leadership and management capabilities of both your current and future managers. We deliver degree apprenticeships throughout England although have the ability to bring degree apprenticeships straight to your door.

If your business has a suitable learning space, UCQ can conduct the lectures in the comfort and convenience of your own offices. Our FE team are skilled at supporting a wide range of support needs and barriers to employment, including through engaging the services of specialist organisations to help learners overcome barriers (e.g. housing, debt, substance misuse, health/disability issues).

Our approach to helping individuals fulfil their potential is centred on supporting all learners, including those from non-traditional backgrounds, to access and succeed within learning, through individualised learning and support and effective development of skills to facilitate improved autonomy and confidence in learning and development.

We have good capacity for and experience of providing work placements for those who aspire to progress into work; further, we work with employers to identify and support recruitment to employment opportunities.

We offer flexible solutions to taught sessions, using digital learning approaches to enable the blending of class and remote learning, enabling learners to develop beyond formal class sessions.
