We have a huge range of courses in a wide variety of subjects at levels to suit everyone. You can choose from vocational courses, A-Levels, apprenticeships, exciting new T-Level qualifications and university level qualifications. You can also choose one of our North East Institute of Technology courses and take advantage of our brand new, state of the art facilities.

We work with employers to ensure our course content meets the needs of industry. Our links with local and national businesses mean we can provide quality work placements, guest speakers, workshops and industry visits.

What's on offer

New College Durham has a wide range of subjects to choose from for students aged 16-19 and also for adults who may be looking to re-train or upskill in their chosen careers. We offer full-time, part-time, apprenticeships and short courses so you can find the best way to study for you.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships give learners the ability to earn at the same time as gaining a qualification. Learners spend 80% of their time with their employer gaining valuable practical skills. The remaining 20% of time is spent in the classroom getting a theoretical underpinning for the job.

T Levels

T Levels are new, two-year study programmes aimed at 16-18 year olds. Learners spend 80% of their time at college developing a broad range of core skills. The remaining 20% of the time is spent on a placement with an employer in a relevant sector to give hands-on experience in a real-life setting.
