We work with employers to ensure our course content meets the needs of industry. Our links with local and national businesses mean we can provide quality work placements, guest speakers, workshops and industry visits.
Student progress
We have a great track record in ensuring that our students progress positively to the next stages of their lives. Last year 94% of our further education students secured employment, started an apprenticeship or took their studies to a higher level at college or university.

Facilities
Get real-life training using industry standard equipment in our state of the art facilities. From engineering workshops to high tech recording studios, media suites to a dental surgery training room, our workshops and classrooms are designed to replicate real work environments.
Our modern campus has a friendly, positive buzz which makes you feel at home from day one. It’s packed with on-site leisure and catering facilities, study resources, industry standard equipment and work related learning environments. All this plus a dedicated University Centre and free parking.
What's on offer
New College Durham has a wide range of subjects to choose from for students aged 16-19 and also for adults who may be looking to re-train or upskill in their chosen careers. We offer full-time, part-time, apprenticeships and short courses so you can find the best way to study for you.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships give learners the ability to earn at the same time as gaining a qualification. Learners spend 80% of their time with their employer gaining valuable practical skills. The remaining 20% of time is spent in the classroom getting a theoretical underpinning for the job.

T Levels
T Levels are new, two-year study programmes aimed at 16-18 year olds. Learners spend 80% of their time at college developing a broad range of core skills. The remaining 20% of the time is spent on a placement with an employer in a relevant sector to give hands-on experience in a real-life setting.
