Nacro

Nacro Newcastle is a training provider, working with 16-18 year olds, offering vocational and functional based qualifications.

About Nacro

Too many young people are being held back from achieving their potential, unable to get the skills that they need to achieve what they want in their lives. At Nacro we work to break down the barriers holding young people back and help them to learn in a way that works for them.

Our small class sizes, tailored approach and additional personal support often appeal to those who have experienced a broken or interrupted academic career. Our learners have typically faced disadvantage, nearly half have an identified learning disability and 70% access either the bursary or are eligible for free school meals.

What we do works

After completing one of our courses almost two thirds (72%) of young people go on to work or further education, and our learners achieve above average pass rates in re-sits for math and English GCSE. And perhaps more importantly, 92% of people who study with Nacro would recommend us to friends or family.

What's on offer

In the Newcastle Centre we offer study programme courses for 16-18 year olds, and the main pathways are motor vehicles, construction, animal care and work ready. Alongside the vocational element we include math, English, employability and pastoral qualifications. We also ensure as many of the young people we work with, are able to engage in work placement to ensure they have both qualifications and experience, to secure a sustainable future for themselves.
