About the network
The Careers Champion programme is part of a wider community of practice for primary schools across the North East Combined Authority area, which spans seven local authorities: County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Sunderland.
The Careers Champions act as a strategic lead within their school and local network, driving innovation, collaboration, and best practice in careers education. Supported by the North East Combined Authority, Champions play a key role in building capacity and confidence across the region.
Careers Champion Responsibilities:
- Host local network meetings alongside Careers Facilitators
- Lead CPD sessions and workshops at two regional full network meetings
- Attend termly steering group meetings to shape the direction of the Core Network
- Collaborate with fellow Champions to share insights and feedback
- Support the coordination and sharing of resources across the region
