Meet our Primary Career Champions

Careers Champions act as local leaders who drive careers education within their schools and across the primary careers network.

About the network

The Careers Champion programme is part of a wider community of practice for primary schools across the North East Combined Authority area, which spans seven local authorities: County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Sunderland.

The Careers Champions act as a strategic lead within their school and local network, driving innovation, collaboration, and best practice in careers education. Supported by the North East Combined Authority, Champions play a key role in building capacity and confidence across the region.


Careers Champion Responsibilities:

  • Host local network meetings alongside Careers Facilitators
  • Lead CPD sessions and workshops at two regional full network meetings
  • Attend termly steering group meetings to shape the direction of the Core Network
  • Collaborate with fellow Champions to share insights and feedback
  • Support the coordination and sharing of resources across the region
