Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development

This qualification provides professional development opportunities for practitioners who are already working with, or entering a role where, they give career guidance to young people or adults.

The qualification covers mandatory units in guidance skills, including agreeing a contract, exploration of client needs and client development action plans. Other mandatory units cover managing career information and LMI, working with other agencies, and understanding career guidance theories. Practitioners will also be expected to reflect on their practice and professional development. New entrants will find the unit on preparing to work in the careers guidance sector useful. There are also a wide range of optional units to choose from to suit the role of the practitioner including use of diagnostic and assessment tools, delivering career related group sessions and undertaking research on behalf of the service.

The RGG Associates Tutor/Assessor will work online individually with learners or in small groups using Teams. For individuals, coaching skills are used by our qualified tutor/assessors to develop the knowledge and understanding required to achieve the qualification. For groups of learners, an online programme of formal training sessions and tutorials through Teams are facilitated.
